Jaques & Son of London - a Staunton pattern complete chess set, the weighted pieces in boxwood and ebony, the white king stamped Jaques London to the lower rim, with one rook and one knight of each colour stamped with crown cipher, in original green felt lined mahogany case, the king approx 10.8 cm (high) - condition the case generally good but with one hinge to the lid present but detached, with some very minor surface scratches only, the playing pieces generally good - black: upper tip of king chipped, base rim chips to queen, rook, knight and one awn, chip to mitre; white: chip to one mitre and base rim of one bishop, small chip to top of king, chips to three pawns, patina good throughout, there is no label within the box.
