Circle of George Romney (1734-1802) - an oil on canvas, portrait of a lady wearing dark green dress and pink silk neck scarf, her hair in ringlets, before an extensive wooded landscape with hills in the distance, holding a sketching block in her gloved left hand and a pencil in her right hand, the painting in an antique pierced giltwood frame, 76 cm x 63 cm - Provenance:from Borwick Hall, Cumberland, formerly the property of the Bindloss family. The painting has been re-lined. We understand that the reverse of the original canvas was inscribed George Romney.
