After Antoine Ignace Melling (b.1763 - 1831) - an early print from Le Voyage Pittoresque De Constantinople Et Des Rives Du Bosphore depicting the interior or the harem at Topkapi Palace from a series of thirty four plates in a two part volume by A I Melling entitled Interieur Dune Partie Du Harem Du Grand -Seigneur, numbered 14, mounted and framed under glass, image size approx 40cm x 65cm. A.I. Melling travelled the Levant and stayed for several years in Constantinople. There he met the sister of the Sultan, Sultane Hadidge and was engaged to renovate her palace at Ortkoy.
