Selling at Auction

Our experienced client services team, supported by a number of professional nationwide specialist consultants, offer a service designed to ensure the best possible price for treasured possessions. We offer pre-sale valuations, and sell them for you at our local auction houses.

Catalogue Sales

We conduct regular Antiques, Collectables and Fine Art Auction Sales, when entries are researched, photographed and listed in our on-line catalogue, as well as selected specialist international websites and search engines attracting buyers from around the world. We also hold regular specialist auction sales for Model Railways, Diecasts and Vintage Toys, Militaria, Sporting Memorabilia, Musical Instruments and other areas of interest.

Collective Sales

We also conduct occasional General Auction Sales for items of lesser value providing a service for people downsizing, clearing houses, disposing of unwanted chattels and entries from registered charities.

Marketing

We have a huge database of clients and advertise extensively locally, nationally and internationally. We also operate a popular Email Alert service sending emails to registered buyers keeping them informed about forthcoming auctions as and when they occur as well as other events.

Hammer Prices

The Auction Centre has a history of achieving the best price for their sellers - much higher than many other provincial salerooms, with high attendance figures both at the saleroom and on-line, enhanced by private consumers attracted to weekend auctions.

Our Charges

We are happy to visit clients to offer advice on complete house clearances or to discuss the sale of a large private collection. The initial consultation is normally FREE, and no charge is made for anything collected at this meeting. Our commission rates are highly competitive, 16% plus VAT, although we may offer a concessionary rate for items of high value or very large estates. In addition, there is a lot charge of £3 per lot, whether sold or unsold. Vendors will be sent a fully itemised statement and payment approximately four weeks after the sale in which their lots have been sold.
